Iveymade began with curiosity.

I didn’t start my creative journey with a formal art degree, a clear career plan, or even the certainty that I could call myself an artist or designer. I started because I wanted to know what I was capable of making. I wanted to understand how a strand of yarn could become something tangible, how a piece of fabric could become a garment, how a drop of paint could become an image, and what might happen if I simply allowed myself to experiment.

That curiosity became Iveymade.

Hello, my name is Ivana, and I am a self-taught, multidisciplinary artisan. My practice moves across crochet, knitting, sewing, embroidery, beading, painting, garment design, fiber arts, and whatever else sparks my curiosity. I come from a family with a strong creative spirit, and making has always been a meaningful way for me to explore ideas, express myself, and connect with the world around me.

Iveymade is more than a collection of things I make. It is a creative practice and a space built around a simple belief: you do not have to be “qualified” to create.

Being self-taught has allowed me to approach creativity with curiosity rather than limitation. I understand what it feels like to be a beginner, to not know the terminology, to make mistakes, to learn through trial and error, and to wonder whether you are “creative enough.” I’ve experienced the frustration of not knowing how something works and the excitement of figuring it out anyway.

That experience is at the heart of Iveymade.

My guiding phrase is “Created to Create.” It represents both my personal journey and my vision for what Iveymade can be. I believe creativity should not be reserved for people with formal training, expensive equipment, or years of experience. Sometimes it begins with something as simple as, “I wonder if I can make that”, or “how can I make my vision or idea tangible”.

That question changed my own life.

Today, Iveymade exists to explore what is possible when we give ourselves permission to create. Through handmade work, original designs, patterns, workshops, classes, and creative community, I want to make the process of learning and making feel accessible, encouraging, and exciting.

Because ultimately, Iveymade is about much more than the finished object.

It is about the student who walks into a workshop unsure of themselves and leaves having made something with their own hands. It is about the person who has always wanted to learn a craft but never knew where to begin. It is about someone picking up a new tool, opening a pattern, experimenting with a material, and realizing, “Maybe I can do this.”

It is about the person who says, “I could never make that,” and discovers that they can.

Iveymade is my ongoing exploration of what happens when curiosity becomes practice. I started creating because I was curious about what I might discover if I allowed myself to explore. Now, I want to create a space where other people can explore too, and perhaps discover something about themselves along the way.

We are all capable of creating something meaningful. Sometimes, we just need permission to begin.
